<h2>Keep the Back Flat</h2>
<p>This is exactly the way I learned to do this stretch in yoga class.  And I have a tremendous amount of respect for my yoga teacher.</p>
<p>The key here is to keep the back straight. It does not matter how far forward you go, everyone is different. Just go far enough to feel the stretch, but don&#8217;t slump over.</p>
<h4>Popular Stretch for Back Pain and Sciatica</h4>
<p>This is a very popular stretch because it is very good for sciatica, low back pain and helps the hip joints. This is a good one for people who sit a lot, you can do this stretch in just a few seconds, right in your chair. There are also versions of this move that are done lying down.</p>
<p>The reason this move is so effective is that it works on the piriformis muscle. A tight piriformis is responsible for low back issues and sciatica leg pain for a lot of folks. Of course not everybody&#8217;s issues stem from piriformis tightness.</p>

<p>Begin by taking a few long deep breathes, this instantly calms your mmind down and helps you to relax. Let go of the stress of the day.</p>
<p>This yoga set is helpful for detoxification, to improve mental focus, and a little care strengthening. Core strength is always good for low back problems like sciatica.</p>
<h2>Easier Poses</h2>
<p>The seated Pigeon pose really helps to open up the hips. The regular pigeon is one of the favorite yoga poses for sciatica, this version is a lot easier, and it can be done anytime. A good stretch for the piriformis muscle, a major culprit in sciatica pain going down the leg.</p>

<p>I have tried this myself and it works great to get things loosened up. I first learned this movement in yoga class. When I saw this video, I knew right away, it was going on the website to share with people.</p>

<p>Most sciatica pain issues start in the lumbar spine area, around the L4, L5, S1 discs. A disc bulge or herniation in this area, compromises the sciatic nerve as it exits the spine. You can clearly see these in the video.<span id="more-460"></span>

<h3>The Major Cause</h3>
<p>The majority of sciatica problems are due to trouble with the discs. Once you know the true cause of your sciatica pain there are a number of things you can do to improve the situation. Chiropractic, inversion therapy, spinal decompression, stretches and exercises are just a few options. <a href="http://painreliefmachine.com/stop-the-chronic-pain-now/">Interferential therapy can help with the pain.</a></p>

<h3>The Other Cause &#8211; Piriformis  Muscle</h3>
<p>Another cause of sciatica, is tightness of the piriformis muscle. If this muscle gets knotted up it can cause pain all down the leg.</p>
<p>Sometimes the sciatic nerve actually goes through the muscle fiber of the piriformis. this situation is not very common, but can cause a lot of pain.</p>
<h3>Understanding the Anatomy</h3>

<h3>Sweet Pain Relief</h3>
<p>As soon as I got the intensity of the unit cracked up to the right level, sweet pain relief was on the way. I strapped the fanny pack around my waste, zipped in the interferential unit and continued playing disc golf.</p>
<h3>Wonderful Pain Free Experience</h3>
<p>I had a wonderful time, enjoying the fresh air, green trees and satisfying pain relief. I even got a good does of vitamin D. From what I&#8217;ve read, exposing your skin to the sun helps your own body to produce vitamin D. I was careful of course not to let myself get burned. Much of the course was shaded by trees, I wasn&#8217;t getting blasted by a lot of direct sun.</p>

These exercises might just make all the difference for a person suffering from sciatica pain.</p>
<p>The first thing is the get the pressure off the sciatic nerve. For some people, siting down makes te sciatica worse. I actually suffered from this myself. Whenever I would have to ride a long distance in a car, the back of my leg and hip area would ache. Getting out to move around and loosen it up helped almost instantly.</p>
<p>When an area of the sciatic nerve suffers from inflammation, pain can happen anywhere down the leg, hips or low back.</p>
<p>None of the exercises should be painful. They are designed to make the pain better. If it hurts worse, stop.</p>
<p>Consult your personal health professional before attempting these or any other exercises.</p>
