The first thing is the get the pressure off the sciatic nerve. For some people, siting down makes te sciatica worse. I actually suffered from this myself. Whenever I would have to ride a long distance in a car, the back of my leg and hip area would ache. Getting out to move around and loosen it up helped almost instantly.

When an area of the sciatic nerve suffers from inflammation, pain can happen anywhere down the leg, hips or low back.

None of the exercises should be painful. They are designed to make the pain better. If it hurts worse, stop.
