Simple Exercises for Sciatica Pain

These 2 easy moves may do a lot for your sciatica. Of course anyone who that has back pain, should consult with their personal health professional, before trying any new exercise.

It’s a nice stretch for the piriformus. The main goal is to re-mobilize the sciatic nerve.

Doing these 2 moves to help your back and leg only takes about a minute or 2, if you did it on both sides. As you can see, the video is under 3 min, and has full instructions.

Great video. As a physical therapist I have those with piriformis tightness use this stretch. I would caution that sciatica is not always caused by a tight piriformis. If your sciatica is caused by a herniated disc, this would be a terrible exercise. Make sure you get a clear diagnosis for the cause of your pain before beginning an exercise program.
